I Need Feedback

Thank you everyone who commented on my last post about plant-strong breakfasts. I wish all of my posts got input like that! Which got me thinking . . .

What do you guys think about my posts on The Beck Diet Solution?

Are you working your own Beck program right now? What step are you on? Are you loving it or hating it?

Should I continue to weave in the Beck content with my other content?

The reason why I am asking is because I want to inspire and not bore. What types of HGK posts do you find the most inspiring?

I personally have been enjoying your take on the Beck book. I'm not really doing it along with you at this time (I've done the program a few times in the past) but I find it helpful to be reminded of the topics in your posts!

I love the Beck posts! I bought the book and am planning on starting once I get the kids back in school next week!

I've read the Beck Diet book but am not currently doing it at the moment. I find that your recipes posts are the most valuable to me, including your last post. Since I'm just starting no the no oil vegan path, it is helpful to see tasty meals that can be done this way. It would be interesting to read about what a day of eating looks like for you (for example: a What I eat Wednesday feature) and also how you navigate things like eating at friend's or family's houses or eating out at a restaurant. I also adore cookbook reviews like the ones you have done in the path. Otherwise, I love your site and appreciate your request for feedback! :)

Sorry, not "path," but "past"! :)

Hi Wendy,
1. I enjoy reading your posts on Beck Diet. I personally do not follow any specific diet but after reading your posts (and Gena and Healthy Librarian), I am into no oil cooking. However I can relate to your posts because you provide different POV (for example your post about hunger, craving and desire ). It helps me to stay motivated.
2. No, I am not on this program.
3. Absolutely. I love information about this Diet as well as your other posts. Like post about Neighbor. I mean we all in this life together at some level.
4. I find your posts interesting, not boring.

I'm not really into the Beck book, but I don't mind reading about it. It sort of ties in with the Eat to Live (which I am currently doing, day 3!) and helps keeping me focused. And also, it's your blog, you can do whatever you want on here! I know I do on mine! ;)

Hi Wendy, I've been following your blog for a few months now and you've inspired me to start the Beck Diet solution myself. I'm on day 3 at the moment. I love reading about your progess as you go through the program as it gives me another perspective and also motivates me to keep moving forward.
Keep up the good work,
Melissa

I like recipes! And I like general encouraging articles, like how to handle travel or parties, or how to overcome emotional eating. If I want specific Beck principles, I will buy the book and read it for myself.

I enjoy when you post recipes and what you are currently eating. I am not following the Beck Diet at this time.

Please keep it up. I was inspired to get the pink book and I've started working the program. Your take on the steps is inspiring and helpful. Thanks for doing it!

I like the variety of posts that you have. Your strategies, the recipes, and the Beck stuff as well...and I take note of all the steps and try to incorporate them but can't say i am following the plan...I follow ETL as closely as I can.

I am not doing the Beck diet but it was interesting reading about it. I love your recipes and your stories. Oh, and I liked seeing your kitchen organization, etc.

I started reading your blog for recipes, I have enjoyed the occasional Beck post but I don't follow them regularly... I tend to skim through those and I really enjoy the ones more focused on healthy recipes

Not during the Beck Diet Solution at this time but I enjoy reading your posts about it. Even though I'm not personally following it reading your progress does inspire me.

I love your recipes and posts regarding entertaining friends and family and dealing with the social challenges of nutritarian eating if you live in a very non-nutritarian area.

As to whether or not you should keep posting on The Beck Diet Solution I'll leave that up to you.

Hi Wendy, I find your blog very inspiring and I love to see all of your amazing recipes. I am not crafty in the kitchen at all and need all the help I can get. I am not following the Beck diet solution at this time; I find the more I focus on eating/diet/what I can have vs. what I can't, it sends me into a horrible downward spiral. What I would love to hear about is how you get your children to eat a plant strong diet. And, what a typical day or weekend of eating/cooking and shopping looks like in your home. I have 4 children and all are picky eaters, my husband is by far the worst ( I've known him for 17 years and yet to see him eat a veg!) I end up making 3 different dinners some evenings or grabbing something out of the fridge to microwave, which is terribly unhealthy.

Any advice you can share would be awesome!
XOXO- Tami

I am not following the Beck diet at the moment, but you are posting exactly what I want and need, and actually MORE importantly, you are allowing (and want us) to provide feedback on how we are doing, and that is much better than Weight Watchers since you provide such healthy recipes. I like exactly what you are covering and providing. Thank YOU

Hi Wendy

Not following the Beck diet...I read your excellent blog for ideas that can keep us on the Engine 2 diet plan

Hi Wendy, I am following DR Esselstyn's program as I have had 2 heart attacks and by-pass surgery. I love your input with the Beck Diet Solution. I have lots of weight to lose and if commiting to a healthy diet was all it took, I would be home free. However, overeating has a huge emotional side for me. Your input and insight is very helpful to me, Thanks.....

I love the variety in your blog! I would love to see your posts continue on the Beck diet solution! Also I agree that ideas for dealing with eating out and social situations would be helpful. I really like your recent post of the email and then your response. I found your advice to that person very helpful and relevent to my own situation.

I am not into Beck or the Beck book. I enjoyed the posts but wouldn't want to see more. Your recipes and pictures of the recipes and comments are the most helpful and inspiring to me....Thanks for asking....

I have really enjoyed reading your blog, however I have skipped all the posts on the Beck Diet. I disagree that dieting is the way to a healthy body. I see that many others have appreciated your posts, and that's good, both for you and for them. I am waiting for new posts on good eating, and good recipes. I look forward to learning these things from you again.

I really enjoy your blog. I saw you speak at Whole Foods and really enjoy all your posts. I have been struggling with adopting E2L for a few months now. So I have been looking for some good soups to make as well as salads. I guess I would like to know more about your system. Like how you adopt the E2L lifestyle with recipes and not have to cook everyday.

I am enjoying your Beck posts. I have used the materials before and need inspiration to get back to it. I love your blog because you seem so real. We get a glimpse into your life, your struggles, even your kitchen and that is interesting and inspiring. There are loads of places to find recipes, but for me the hurdles are the emotional aspects of eating and feeding a family and the planning and organizing which seem overwhelming to me. I do love your recipes and pictures too. Keeping it varied is what appeals to me most.

Wendy, every post is valuable, really. The Beck information is offers insight along with all the rest from Fuhrman to Barnard to info you share from other bloggers. The recipes are wonderful. I especially enjoy how you weave in your personal adventures (we're all human) along with science-based data...you make it fun. You've inspired me to hold a vegan potluck.

I like variety, and the Beck posts are a reminder to me to be more mindful. (I REALLY need to get back to Beck...)

I love the recipe recommendations, particularly as you try stuff I normally wouldn't, and I like having them vetted for me. :)

Really, for me, anything related to vegan/Fuhrman/Esselstyn/Engine2/etc etc etc are appreciated. I just enjoy reading anything about my favourite topic! :)

I have just started following your blog so can't say much about the Beck Diet. I began eating a plant-based, no-oil diet a few months ago and found you when I was searching for a no-oil, no dairy, no sugar salad dressing. Your Caesar dressing convinced me there was a way to eat healthy AND enjoy. I have now signed up so I can find more recipes and eating ideas.

I have just decided to share your link on my Coaching site. I don't coach specifically on health, but do think good health feeds the mind, body and spirit and helps balance one's life. Thanks much for your posts.

Hi Wendy! I enjoy just about everything you decide to write about. I am not doing the Beck diet, but am learning how and what to eat from your accountability forum on the T. Colin Campbell site as well as how to navigate my emotions and stress. I've found a lot of nice links to other plant-strong and vegan sites and have taken what I need from them as well. You can keep posting about Beck or not...just keep posting your recipes and stories and know that you are a positive inspiration for so many of us! Thanks, again!

I always enjoy your posts and currently find the content to be well varied and consistently relevant. I've dabbled in the Beck book and like hearing about how you're doing it. I also would like to hear more about your daily meals and cooking for your family. Advice on traveling, eating out and eating with others would also be great. Be assured, we basically all just enjoy YOU and your take on this complicated world of food, so whatever direction you take your blog in, we're bound to follow!

And inspire you do, Wendy! It's hard to know what specific topics people will be interested in (and by extension will generate many comments), but what seems to inspire us all is your commitment to being yourself on these posts. You are putting yourself out there for all of us; if the topic is not boring to you and is important in your own life (like going through the Beck plan to help you re-commit), then it's worth posting. Chances are it won't be boring to at least one other of your readers. A specific post may not generate as many comments, but even if one person reads it and took something away from it, you've done a wonderful thing.
I would hate to think you feel the need to write for the masses, since part of your charm (and a big reason why I keep coming back here) is that you keep it so real :)
For that, I thank you!

I enjoy anything you write about even though I am not a vegetarian or into the Beck Diet. I'd like to see more about emotional eating as that is what I am working on at this time. Maybe getting a forum started about it? I also like the idea of you putting online a typical day of eating for you. Anything you write is inspirational, so keep on doing what ever you are doing!

I did buy the Beck book and am following the program. Tomorrow is Day 13 which is about cravings. I am anxious to try the steps as this is one of my problem areas. I lost 26 lbs with Dr.Fuhrman's ETL-vegan version- but gained some back during summer travel and other splurges. I have a lot of nutritional "know-how" but fall back into bad habits. I appreciate your posts to keep things going!

I love your blog! I most enjoy the recipes and pictures of the recipes. I find these posts the most helpful and inspiring. I am trying hard to follow a plant-based, no-oil diet and am finding it challenging when feeding my family. It is also especially challenging when I have my extended family for dinner.

Hi from Marcia-
I love the Beck stuff. It has gotten me into it, and I missed it when you waivered from the day-to-day. No matter what eating plan a person follows, if they need to lose weight, your Beck day-by-day summaries are really helpful. I've never heard of the book before and think the doctor who wrote it is wise and very smart, plus she has years of experience to share. For a while, it seemed people were posting right along wtih you re. Beck. Perhaps a special group somewhere for those of us working it together? Thank you!

I do not prefer them. The steps are either obvious or too small to care about.
