Finally, Healthy Girl's Kitchen Has its own Facebook Page!

The volume of social media can be overwhelming and exhausting, but given the amount of Healthy Girl's Kitchen readers that have been clicking on that Facebook icon over there on the left margin, I thought it might be time to introduce a Fan page on Facebook for all of use to use together. So here it is, the link to the Healthy Girl's Kitchen fan page:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Healthy-Girls-Kitchen/125513254187268?v=wall

Please go there and "like" Healthy Girl's Kitchen. It would mean a lot to me!

And in other news, there's talk of a healthy fast food chain being opened by two former McDonald's execs. They're talkin' 250 locations . . .

Does it seem like the healthy eating movement (whole, unprocessed foods and however else you define healthy eating) is beginning to grow? Or am I just surrounding myself with all things healthy eating so that it seems like it to me?

Do you plan to update your blog and facebook with the same content? I hope so! I love reading your blog! I'm in the dark ages and not on facebook :)

To answer your question... I am loving this new health movement. I cannot get enough. It has been life changing. It wasn't until I started eating plant-strong that I realized I was lactose intolerant. Now eating dairy makes me feel so horrible that it's not even a temptation to touch it. I would never have thought I could say that. I used to think I could not live without some cheese in my life. Things have changed... so much for the better!

2 Questions for you if you have time:

1. What chocolate chips did you use for your dark brownies. I made them for my kids and their friends and they loved them! All I could find was the Ghiradelli semi-sweet which are not 60%.

2. How do you store your brownies? I have been finding the desserts with the applesauce subbed for oil gives them a different consistency the next day (I have found this to be especially true of the cookies from the E2 book... love them a few hours out of the oven, but they are all wet the next day.)

Thanks for all the amazing work you pour into your blog by helping your readers get/stay healthy. I am getting inspired to host a plant-powered meal for meat eater friends! I am not a confident cook, so this is big for me. All thanks to you!

Mandy-I'm not at home so I will have to get back to you later on the chocolate chip question. But as far as the baked goods go, I either leave them on a plate out on the counter and cover it with aluminum foil OR put them into a ziplock baggie and leave it out on the counter. I haven't had any consistency problems at all, but I am in Cleveland and it is extremely cold and dry here. What part of the world are you in? That could totally have something to do with it. You could try storing the stuff in the refridgerator.

Mandy-I have been using Whole Food's 365 Brand Dark Chocolate Mini Chunks. They are 70% cacao. And as for the blog vs. Facebook--the blog is where it's at baby! FB is secondary, and mostly for all of the readers of HGK to talk to each other!
